Triathlon Green Sport

The vision that guides the actions of the Xel-Há park and as part of Grupo Xcaret is to be unique in sustainable tourist recreation. For this reason, we adhere to the Mexican Triathlon Federation (FMTRI) initiative and raise awareness in the community about the proper use of resources with a sustainable vision by promoting Triathlon as a Green Sport.

In the 2024 edition of the Xel-Há Triathlon, there will be a variety of actions aimed at preserving the environment and disseminating these good practices among the participants, highlighting:

• Use of chemical-free sunscreens.
• Separation of inorganic waste for recycling.
• Collection of bicycle tubes to give them a second use.
• Use of organic waste to produce compost, which is used as fertilizer in green areas.
• Use of biodegradable materials and supplies, such as chemical-free cleaning products and recyclable material.
• Reduction in the use of forms.
• Collection of swim caps to donate to schools.
• Full donation of the registration fee for the Xel-Há Triathlon to Flora, Fauna y Cultura de México, A.C.
• Integration of the community (volunteers) in the organization of the event, promoting good environmental practices, as well as sports among youth.
• Rehabilitation of roads with cleaning and collection of more than 20 tons of waste.

Xel-Há, with the endorsement of the Triathlon Association of the state of Quintana Roo and in coordination with the Commission for Youth and Sports of Quintana Roo, the Institute of Youth and Sports of the Municipality of Tulum and Cozumel, in addition to sponsors and the Mexican Triathlon Federation, they invite you to be part of this sports event.
